Blog Here Blog There Blog Everywhere!

It seems that every time you go online there’s another site offering their blog service and most are pretty much template based. Not only that but in most cases you need to be online and on their site but please don’t think for a second that I dislike the sites that offer free blogs in fact I think they are great and in most cases free. I know there are a few alternatives but I ran into one yesterday that I didn’t know existed. You may or may not have heard of Thingamablog but all I can do is pass it on and hope somone benefits. Here is a little bit more on Thingamablog:

FileZilla - My new FTP client

Posted by Simon on February 11th, 2007 in Free Stuff, Softwares and Tools | 1 Comment

When my FlashFXP client stopped working for me I had to change FTP client. So I tested a few ones, like FTP Commander (a really old one, but free ftp). They all missed something. But now I think I’ve found my ftp client. It’s called FileZilla.

FileZilla is a fast and reliable FTP client and server with lots of useful features and an intuitive interface.

Fresh Blue - A free Blogger.com template

Posted by Simon on November 30th, 2006 in Blogging, Free Stuff, Web Design | 2 Comments

I just made a free blog template for Blogger.com called “Fresh Blue” (okey, don’t make jokes about the name! :P).

It’s a very clean and basic template. The template works on all major browsers. Tested in Opera 9, Firefox 2 and IE 6. If you find any bugs or got any suggestions please tell me by making a comment here.

It’s free to use and download.

Everything works but the code might be a bit messy. I will update the code and add some more features in a very near future (when I get some more free time).

Here is a list of free Stock Photo websites. If you know any other please tell us by making a comment.

There is a difference between FREE stock photos and ROYALTY-FREE stock photos. FREE stock photos are free, without charge, for you to use however you want. ROYALTY-FREE stock photos often require an initial payment, but can be used without further payment for commercial purposes (some may have a limit of how many times it can be used).

Grazr

Posted by Usman Ilyas on October 30th, 2006 in Free Stuff, Links, Softwares and Tools | No Comments

Grazr is a free JavaScript based that lets you put your feed on a webpage, and nice thing about it is its quite fast.

RSS feeds are great, but the subscription model used by aggregators is slow and clumsy. After a while, it gets to be too much trouble to subscribe to more feeds. That’s why grazing feeds is becoming so popular. Grazr lets you view as many feeds as you want without the hassle of subscribing. Grazr users can freely jump from feed to feed. It’s like surfing on a river of feeds.

Make image reflections using Javascript

Posted by Simon on August 27th, 2006 in Free Stuff, General Programming, JavaScript, Web Design | No Comments

Reflection.js 1.5 allows you to add reflections to images on your webpages. It uses unobtrusive javascript to keep your code clean.

It works in all the major browsers - Internet Explorer 5.5+, Mozilla Firefox 1.5+, Opera 9+ and Safari. On older browsers, it’ll degrade and your visitors won’t notice a thing. Best of all, it’s under 5KB.
