ScrewTurn Wiki 2.0

Posted by Gary on May 29th, 2007 in Blogging, Free Stuff, Web Design | 1 Comment

I was doing one of my favorite things yesterday, and yes, it was surfing on the web trying to find something else I could bring into discussion.

I had run up on an unusual piece of software and as usual scrolled to the bottom of the page to check out the small print when a particular word caught my eye; screwturn and I couldn’t wait to give that one a left click. To make a long story short screwturn was the name of the program the site had been created with and believe me, it looked great!

You can do about anything with screwturn , try it out, discuss it, download it, use it, what ever, it’s free, open source and available in several different packages to fit your needs.  Give it a spin!          Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Answer Tips, Webmasters, bloggers, you can now add an answer tips box to your site that allows users to get information of any word located on your web pages just by double clicking. A box will open with information about that word plus more if they desire. It can be installed by simply inserting the html code into your template. I have installed it on my site, FREE PIMS and now the question; is this a good idea or not?

Simple Machines Forum

Posted by Gary on April 4th, 2007 in Free Stuff | 2 Comments

Simple Machines Forum - SMF in short - is a free, professional grade software package that allows you to set up your own online community within minutes. Its powerful custom made template engine puts you in full control of the lay-out of your message board and with our unique SSI - or Server Side Includes - function you can let your forum and your website interact with each other. SMF is written in the popular language PHP and uses a MySQL database. It is designed to provide you with all the features you need from a bulletin board while having an absolute minimal impact on the resources of the server. SMF is the next generation of forum software, and best of all it is and will always remain completely free!

SMF, software has been around a while but it’s a new one on me. Here’s the forum where I find the link, stuck in the bottom of the web page in tiny print. See what you think!

Slide Show of Sites

Posted by Gary on March 30th, 2007 in Free Stuff | 1 Comment

Just a combination of sites that offer online tools to create a slide show of the sites I have created lately. You may have something you would want to add to your site in slide show format. You will see the photo bucket tag on the slides and I suppose you would have to pay to get rid of that but I can live with it.

I first upload these url to Web Shot Pro. and it allows you to choose what size you would like you image to be, then download it.

Then I went to Photo Bucket and created an album, upload the pictures I wanted in the slide show and got the link to add here.

You have a lot of control over these slide shows. Here’s one more example:
