It’s actually not in the top of your page or right over your posts. And it’s not right under every post or on the side of the post. It’s actually inside the post, in the top right corner. I have been testing this location now for a while and I can frankly say it’s the best location to place your ad.

The sizes that work the best are small sizes like 125×125 or a 180 x 150. And they must be text link ads like Google AdSense etc. Image banners don’t do so well. And they must be located in the top right corner of your post (See Image). Just like this blog has.

Make the colors of your banner in your site/blog colour. If you have a white background on your blog you should have a white background and white borders on the ad. It works the same with the title and description of the text ad. The title should be in your normal link colour and the description would go in your normal text colour. But you shouldn’t confuse your readers too much so you need to put some kind of border around the ad. I’ve used a dotted 1px border on the left side and on the bottom.
