Feedvertising is TLA’s RSS technology that you can use for free for your own personal use or you can opt into our marketplace to monetize your RSS feeds. Live.com is #5 in US? What?

Posted by Ben on September 27th, 2006 in Opinion | 1 Comment

It’s a question I’ve been asking myself for a few weeks now. Live.com has passed eBay for the 5th most visited site in America. Live.com is now #9 overall– yes, that means the entire world– while eBay is #12.

What Happened to eBay?
Nothing. I think there are 2 main reasons why this change has happened.

  1. Along with all the other Top 500 sites, eBay’s traffic has slowly declined, while smaller sites get much more traffic. eBay is probably getting hit a bit harder.
  2. If you’re in the US, there’s a very good chance you’ve seen an eBayExpress.com commercial in the past weeks. If eBay is directing people to alternate domains for different services, it obviously doesn’t count for the eBay.com domain in terms of traffic.

Live.com?
I feel the same way. It’s basically a seperate website to use MSN search. It’s always been a top website, although I can’t put the finger on exactly why. It has nothing to do with a large rise in traffic, merely when eBay slipped, Live.com was shoved in to fill the space.

YouTube
Believe it or not, the website that many people think is about to die is going strong at #10 in the world. Is this the infamous push before the fall? I don’t think so. As the site continues to grow, so does the number of spam/worthless videos put in, however, that also means that the number of quality videos (hard to find an original video without 10 remakes anymore) is rising. Personally, I think the site will always be big, although I’m not sure how much longer it will be at the top-top, but at some point serious directors will stop submitting when spam takes over the site. Not to mention the number of other quality video submission websites that give a percentage of ad revenue on the video’s page to the submitter.

And, MySpace is #6 overall in the world. Egad. And to think that Yahoo! is reportedly buying Facebook (at a mere #65 in the entire world) for as much as $1 billion USD (786,566,760€)? Tommy got ripped off by Rupert.

Wordpress Upgrade

Posted by Josh on September 26th, 2006 in Uncategorized | 2 Comments

So, we have upgraded WordPress. It may not look that much different to you, but it looks a lot different for us!

Still, you may have noticed we went down on Saturday. That was my fault. Sorry. I half uploaded the files for the upgrade. Still, when I finally decided to not slack off, I got the upgrade done!

Still, continue to come, we haven’t changed that much.
