Do Not Use Blazernetwork.com

Just a little warning if you ever thought getting a hosting account with them:

I have just had my first ever horror story with a webhost. This webhost is called Blazernetwork (www.blazernetwork.com).

I signed up for their hosting service a little over a year ago. For the first year, they were great - just a few outages here and there. But ever since I renewed my domain and hosting with them, my website has been down nearly 5% of the total time I’ve been paying for it to be up.

Currently my site has been down for nearly 4 consecutive days, with the exception of a few minutes of uptime during yesterday afternoon. Furthermore, they have not responded to a single one of my emails for months during previous network outages. I luckily had enough time to backup all of my files to my computer so I can begin looking for a new webhost. But unfortunately, since I can’t get in contact with anyone there, I can’t change the domain over to a different server since they are my registar. Furthermore, my main email account is on my domain, and all emails to it are being bounced. Wonderful.

I’m writing this as a warning to all of those looking for a webhost. Do NOT user blazernetwork.com if you care about your site being online.

    For all those victims of Blazer Network, here is some information that might ionterest you. This company is owned by Britt Kelly, who apparently is a candidate to appear on a Donald Treump Show.     I canceled with Blazernetwork after several frustrating interactions. Here is the e-mail I sent when I canceled, which details why I left:

    I’m a web consultant who has used Blazernetwork for my personal site and for my domain name hosting for three years, and I’ve recommended your company to several of my clients. However, I will no longer be using your services, and I can no longer recommend Blazernetwork or Web Hosting International to my customers. In fact, I have to recommend that they avoid using you.

    I would have been happy to stay with Blazernetwork, but for the third year in a row you redirected my domain name, darylgregory.com, to an ad site, with no warning. The first two years this happened I complained and was assured that I would receive some kind of advance notice. Below you’ll see that you gave me an alert that payment was due, but the domain redirection occured a few hours after the e-mail was sent, well in advance of Nov. 28. My first alert that this had happened was when several colleagues e-mailed me.

    Then, to top it off, when I called to transfer my domain name to another provider so I could keep my Blazernet web hosting service but have the domain name hosted with someone else, I was told that you would not provide an authorization code to allow the transfer until I had re-subscribed for another year. (See my e-mails with Diaz for a record of this.) This is obviously ridiculous — customers can’t end service until they purchase another year? In effect, you’re holding domain names hostage. In the end I paid for another year with WHI, and then immediately transferred my domain name to another provider. I also decided that I had to move my web hosting to a company that took customer service more seriously.

    Hopefully this message will be passed to someone in charge of account management and sales. I have no idea why you would antagonize recurring customers — keeping a customer is a lot cheaper than trying to win a new one — but obviously your systems and policies need to change.
