Fixed width layout
Webmasters who decide to use a fixed width layout for his site probably decide this because they want to have control of their design. And this I truly understand. There are more things that is good with fixed width layouts. One is that the text on your site will be a lot easier to read when it’s not cluttered on the whole page. So if you are planning o create a site with lots of text, like a blog or some kind of news site you should go for a fixed width layout.

So what are the downsides with a fixed width layout? Well there are some unfortunately. For example the user have to scroll a lot more to read and see all of the content on your site. Another bad thing is that their will be more and more empty spaces around your site content.

Liquid layout
Lot’s of people like flexible layouts. I can understand this. But personally I think flexible layout will have a difficult future. This because more and more is getting bigger and bigger screens. And like I said before. If you use a flexible layout it will be hard and almost impossible to read the text on your site if you use a big screen.

But what is good about flexible layouts? Well they sometimes look better because they take care of all the space on the screen. Flexible layouts is also good if you have a gallery site. It’s a lot easier to find a picture with a design like that. There is no talk about it.

So what kind of layout should you choose now? Well I like sites that use a fixed widht layout, this because a lot of things but mostly because they are easier to read. Everything ends up how you want it. But a tip is to make the design with fixed widht.
